Cosplaying + Wonderflex

Tue Feb 24, 2009, 9:18 PM
I do believe I am far overdue for an update here, for the two or so of you wacky internet people who actually view this page. Anyway, as the title suggests, I'll be talking about cosplaying and this wonderful material called Wonderflex!

Yes, you read correctly: cosplay. For those who actually know me, that seems absurdly outlandish, that I would cosplay. Don't worry, I thought so too. But after being FORCED to cosplay these last two years at Fanime by my exceedingly talented and eminently beautiful friends from CosplayInABox:iconcosplayinabox: (if you don't know them, you darn well should!), I have developed a taste for dressing up in colorful, silly costumes and traipsing around having my picture taken. Of course, hardly anybody so much as glances at me when I'm around those attention-hogs (you know who they are)!
Regardless, cosplaying is oodles of fun and I fully intend to cosplay at future anime conventions so long as it appeals to me. The plan for Fanime 09 is to appear as Sanji from One Piece and perhaps also Enju from Rozen Maiden. Don't quote me on either, however.

Next is my news about Wonderflex. For the cosplay-ignorant among you, it is a thermoplastic that is easily sculpted and shaped into various props (usually weapons and/or armor). Mostly owing to my absolute zero contribution to CosplayInABox:iconcosplayinabox: (yes, I'm a full-fledged member!), I've developed an interest in crafting various cosplay props for my eternally delightful and hard-working compatriots. This also means that when I actually stop sucking at making things from the stuff, I'll be taking commissions through CosplayInABox:iconcosplayinabox: (oh yeah, we're branching out!). But once again, don't quote me on that.

Phew, that was a whole lot. For those who have a severe aversion to reading, I like to cosplay now and I'll be crafting props from Wonderflex.

I can MAKE you a sword that looks just like what you need.
Just tell me which character you're cosplaying, and I'll do the rest. Of course, reference picture are always appreciated.

Besides, the only swords I have that you can borrow are ones that wouldn't fit. The Master Sword is too identified, my only real sword isn't allowed at Cons, and my bokken is quite obviously not appropriate for the costume.
the sword that clare wields in claymore :DDDD KEVIN UR AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!!

"You could buy an Elijah Wood??" O.o
Oooh, I like how the sword looks! This will be a fun project.
Good thing I have the whole year to work on it though, since I totally can't afford the materials at the moment.
^-^

oh! ill pay for it!

I don't know if THAT'S necessary. After all, I make props as my contribution to CosplayInABox. But... if you really want to pay I won't stop you, and I'll be very appreciative.

On a side note, why are you never on AIM? It would liven up my day to chat with you.
